Ovarian Cancer Overview

OVARIAN CANCER
Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the ovaries. Women have two ovaries, one on each side of the uterus. Ovaries - each about the size of an almond - produce eggs (ova) and hormones estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.

Ovarian cancer is often not detected until it has spread to the pelvis and abdomen. In this type of ovarian cancer in advanced stage is difficult to treat and is often fatal.
