If you have any concerns mole or other damage, the primary care provider, probably refer to a dermatologist. A dermatologist will examine all moles in question and in many cases, the entire surface of the skin.
Any injury that are difficult to identify, or believed to be skin cancer, can then be verified.

If a biopsy shows that you have melanoma, you will probably receive additional testing to determine the extent of the spread of the disease, if any. This may involve blood tests, chest x-rays and other tests if necessary
