bladder cancer prognosis

Prospects of human bladder cancer varies considerably, depending on the tumor stage at diagnosis.

Almost 90% of patients treated for superficial bladder cancer (Ta, T1, CIS) to survive for at least five years after treatment.

Only about 5% of people with metastatic bladder cancer survive at least two years after diagnosis.

Recurrent tumors more aggressive and show a poor outlook for long-term survival for patients with high stage bladder cancer or higher. Recurrent low-grade superficial bladder cancer is rarely fatal.
